Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to DinkLife! This morning, we find ourselves in Cincinnati, Ohio, specifically at Kings Island amusement park. It’s Chanda’s birthday weekend, so we decided to come down here and celebrate.
We arrived at the park around 9:18 AM and found out that as season pass holders, we could enter half an hour early. We took advantage of the opportunity and headed straight for the rides before the park officially opened at 10 o’clock. One of the rides available for pass holders was Diamondback, a major coaster.
After enjoying a thrilling ride on Diamondback, we discovered a store with Diamondback and Beast merchandise. The retro designs and throwback logos caught our attention, and we were impressed by the reasonable prices. We browsed through hats, shirts, snow globes, and glassware, finding some cool items to commemorate our visit.
Next, we hopped on Mystic Timbers, a newer wooden coaster with numerous twists, turns, and bunny hills. The coaster’s unpredictable nature and the feeling of almost flying out of our seats made it an exhilarating family ride. We highly recommend it for a good time.
We also experienced the Backlot Stunt Coaster, which started strong with a thrilling launch and tight helixes but became a bit rough towards the end. While not one of our favorites, it still offered some fun moments.
We couldn’t miss the iconic Beast, a wooden coaster that has been captivating riders since it was built in 1979.
Throughout our day, we ventured onto other rides, including the Racer, Banshee, Flight of Fear, and Adventure Express. We shared our thoughts on each ride, highlighting the unique features and our personal experiences.
We explored the various stores within the park, checking out the merchandise available for 2023. From Snoopy and Peanuts-themed items to retro logo tees, there was something for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices and picked up a few souvenirs.
As we continued our adventure, we took breaks to enjoy some tasty treats. Chanda indulged in an orange creamsicle cheesecake, which brought back childhood memories of push-up pops. Wes opted for a creme brulee cookie that satisfied her sweet tooth.
Reflecting on our day at Kings Island, we mentioned the affordability of the park compared to others. We also discussed the slow operations we encountered that day but hoped it was due to it being early in the season. Despite the minor inconvenience, we had a fantastic time exploring the park and appreciated its family-friendly atmosphere.
As the day drew to a close, we took a moment to admire the beautifully lit center of the park, including the Eiffel Tower and fountain.
