Hey everyone, it’s Chanda and Wes from DinkLife, and welcome to our vlog! Today, we decided to embark on an exciting journey to Cedar Point, known as America’s roller coast. The season just started, so we’re here to explore what’s new and revisit some old favorites.
To kick off our day, we took advantage of our Platinum Pass, which granted us early entry into Cedar Point. It was fantastic because the park wasn’t crowded yet, and we could leisurely stroll through the main area without many people around.
Our first stop was the Wild Mouse, the newest coaster at Cedar Point. Surprisingly, it exceeded our expectations! The track was incredibly smooth, with no jerks. The ride itself was a lot of fun, thanks to its unique turning elements. We both enjoyed it and agreed that it was a great addition to the park.
Next up was GateKeeper, one of the park’s popular rides. While the initial hill and flip were exhilarating, the rest of the ride was just okay for us. However, if you’re a thrill ride enthusiast, Cedar Point is the place to be, and GateKeeper is one of the better rides in the park.
As we explored the park, we stumbled upon a shop in the front that had some excellent merchandise. They had posters featuring all the rides at Cedar Point, as well as sweatshirts, t-shirts, patches, and pins for each roller coaster. If you’re looking for quality merchandise, this is the place to go!
We also took a ride on the Sky Ride, one of the classic attractions at Cedar Point. It’s a rare sight to see these types of rides in many parks nowadays, so it was a delightful experience. The Sky Ride provided us with a fantastic view of the park, allowing us to take in the surroundings while gliding through the air.
One of the highlights of our day was Steel Vengeance, an RMC coaster that receives rave reviews. Although our opinions differed slightly, we both appreciated the ride. While Wes found it intense and smooth, Chanda felt it was a bit too long and made her a little queasy towards the end. Nevertheless, it remains a popular attraction, loved by many visitors.
Maverick, another coaster, caught our attention next. It featured a quick launch and intense banks and turns. The only downside was the trim brakes that slowed down the momentum after a fantastic second launch. Overall, it was an enjoyable and intense coaster experience.
We couldn’t resist checking out the merchandise store dedicated to Maverick. They had a wide selection of shirts and sweatshirts related to the coaster, making it a great spot to find some memorabilia.
Lunchtime arrived, and we tried a restaurant The Farmerhouse Kitchen & Grill, the steak we ordered was delicious. The only downside was the high prices, which were comparable to the cost of the beers we ordered. So, be prepared to spend some money if you plan on dining and drinking inside the park.
While Cedar Point might not be known for extensive theming, Frontier Town stood out as the best-themed area in the park. With its charming atmosphere and the recently added boardwalk area near Lake Erie, it was a pleasant place to explore. However, if you’re more into family rides and intricate theming, Cedar Point might not be the ideal choice.
