Introduction
Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda! Welcome back to our Japan travel series. In this post, we will be discussing our journey from Osaka back to Tokyo, specifically to visit Tokyo Disney – a must-see destination for Disney fanatics like us.
The Journey
We woke up early on the day of our journey to make sure we had enough time to pack and get ready. After double-checking that we had everything we needed, we left our hotel in Osaka and headed to the train station. The train ride from Osaka to Tokyo was a long but comfortable one, and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way, including the picturesque mountain ranges and the vast green landscapes that stretched out before us.
After arriving at Tokyo Station, our first task was to find the subway that would take us to Disney. The walk to the subway was very long, and we had to navigate through the complex Tokyo subway system. We walked through the station and took several escalators before finally reaching the subway that would take us to Disney. Though the subway ride was short, we were filled with excitement to see Tokyo Disney.
Dining at Expriari
When we arrived at Tokyo Disney, we were quite hungry and decided to explore the outdoor mall, Ikspiari. We stumbled upon a Japanese-style yakiniku barbecue restaurant called Ichizpiari kitchen. The restaurant had a unique way of serving food, with meat platters coming out on a conveyor belt. Although the experience was fun, we found the food to be average and a bit pricey. We paid around $100 for two people, and the meat options were limited. However, the charcoal grill in the middle of the table was a cool touch. If you’re looking for a more authentic Japanese dining experience, we suggest exploring other options outside of the resort.
Checking into Our Hotel
After our meal, we checked into our hotel, the Hilton Tokyo Bay. The hotel was only a 5-minute walk from the monorail station, which was convenient. Our room was huge, and we had a floor-to-ceiling picture window overlooking Tokyo Disney’s version of Magic Kingdom. We were able to watch the fireworks from our hotel room, which was a surreal experience. We spent some time relaxing in the room and taking in the view before heading out to explore more of the park.
The bathroom was also impressive, with a wet room that had a glass enclosure for the shower and tub. The window coverings were Shoji screens, which added to the Japanese hotel feel. We felt like we were truly immersed in the Japanese culture during our stay. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they even provided us with some recommendations for places to visit in Tokyo.
Conclusion
Overall, our journey from Osaka to Tokyo Disney was a smooth and enjoyable one. We loved exploring the Ikspiari outdoor mall and chatting with fellow American travelers. We also learned that the merchandise at the Disney Store in Japan is not the same as the Park merch, so we recommend exploring other options if you’re looking for unique souvenirs. Despite the average dining experience, we still had a great time and can’t wait to share our Tokyo Disney experience in the next post. Thanks for joining us on this adventure!
