Our Incredible First Visit to Tokyo Disney Seas – Day 1 – Part 1

Join us as we recount our unforgettable journey to Tokyo Disney Resort. As the hosts of DinkLife, we recently had the opportunity to explore the parks over three incredible days. In this post, we’ll share our firsthand experience and provide valuable tips for those planning a visit to this magical place.

To secure our tickets for Tokyo Disney Resort, we turned to Klook, a reliable platform, as the official park websites didn’t accept American credit cards. Surprisingly, the tickets were quite affordable, priced at around $69 each. However, keep in mind that the resort only offers one-day tickets. Additionally, advanced reservations for specific park days are required, similar to the process at US Disney parks.

Arriving at the resort, we eagerly got in line 45 minutes before the gates opened, hoping for a head start. However, the lines moved at a slow pace. Security measures varied, with some lines having X-ray while others conducted bag checks with sticks. Unfortunately, getting in line early didn’t provide any advantages for us in terms of ride access.

We had heard about the possibility of soft openings, where visitors can enter the park about 30 minutes before the official opening. Intrigued, we decided to try it for Journey to the Center of the Earth, which already had a long 180-minute wait. However, we found that getting in line early didn’t grant us any advantages.

Tokyo Disney Resort requires entry passes for live shows, distributed through a lottery system. Although we didn’t win any show passes during our visit, we were fortunate to secure a spot for the breathtaking night show at Disney Seas our 2nd day.

Our top recommendation is to use express passes for popular rides like Journey to the Center of the Earth and Tower of Terror. With wait times often exceeding 200 minutes, these passes can save you precious time. They come at an additional cost of around $15 to $25 each, but the convenience and priority access they provide are well worth it. Remember to scan you park tickets into the Disney app to get access to the Fastpass in the app..

When it comes to dining, expect mainly Asian cuisine with limited American options. The food at Tokyo Disney Resort is both delicious and thoughtfully themed. We recommend trying different food options to fully immerse yourself in the unique culinary offerings.

Our overall experience at Tokyo Disney Resort surpassed our expectations. The rides impressed us with their theming and advanced technology. The parks were immaculate, well-organized and everyone was very nice, adding to the magical atmosphere. Through sharing our firsthand experience and valuable tips, we hope to help fellow visitors make the most of their own Tokyo Disney Resort adventure.
