Hey, it’s Wes! Welcome to another DinkLife. Today I took a trip to Cedar Point with my brother, we’re ready for a day of roller coasters and fun. We started the day with early entry, getting on Gatekeeper in the front row with no wait. The view was amazing, and the ride was fantastic. Next, we tried out the new Wild Mouse ride. The line was about 20 minutes, but not too bad considering it’s the opening year. The ride was a good addition to the park, with just the right amount of spinning.
We couldn’t resist riding Steel Vengeance next, its our favorite coaster at the park. We arrived just before it opened and got in line. Unfortunately, I had to store my fanny pack in a paid locker since it wasn’t allowed on the ride. It was worth it, though, as Steel Vengeance is an amazing RMC hybrid roller coasters. It was intense, smooth, and full of exciting moments.
After Steel Vengeance, we checked out Maverick, which had a 30-40 minute wait. The ride was thrilling and had some great drops and twists. We decided to sit in the back seat for an extra thrill.
We took a break from coasters and went on Snake River Expedition, a boat ride with a new real estate style story to it. It was enjoyable, but not particularly amazing.
For lunch, we dined at the Grand Pavilion restaurant and had sirloin steak and funnel cake shrimp. The steak was delicious, especially the Syracuse salt potatoes. We enjoyed our meal and walked the patio, which offered beautiful views of the park.
We also rode Magnum XL, which was a bit rough, and Rougarou, which used to be a stand-up coaster but was now floorless coaster type train. Both rides were enjoyable, although Rougarou had some head-banging moments for shorter people. We then had a relaxing ride on MaxAir, which provided a nice breeze and swinging experience.
We took a break to check out the woodworking area and see some cute animals before grabbing beers in Frontierland. We listened to live music and soaked in the atmosphere. Later, we rode Valravn, a drop coaster with a reasonable wait time of 15-20 minutes. The drop was thrilling, but the rest of the ride was fairly standard.
As the day came to an end, we reflected on our Cedar Point experience. We had a fantastic day, riding seven coasters and enjoying the park’s offerings. Although we missed the shows, it didn’t diminish our enjoyment. Cedar Point never disappoints, and we can’t wait for our next visit.
