Brew at the Akron Zoo: A Fun and Refreshing Summer Event

Introduction

Welcome to DinkLife Tonight! In this episode, Wes and Chanda take us on a tour of the Akron Zoo’s Brew at the Zoo event. This annual summer event offers a unique experience where attendees can sample various craft beers, wines, and ciders while enjoying the zoo’s scenery. In this blog post, we will provide a breakdown of the event and share our experience.

Sampling Some of the Best Breweries and Wineries in Akron

At the Akron Zoo’s Brew at the Zoo, attendees have the opportunity to sample craft beers, wines, and ciders from some of the best local breweries and wineries in Akron. For $45 per person, VIP tickets provide attendees with 12 tastings, one full beer, and a hot pretzel. General admission tickets are $30 for zoo members and $35 for non-members, which includes eight tastings. The designated driver ticket costs $25 and provides two non-alcoholic drinks. Wes and Chanda were able to try out various breweries, including Bent Ladder, Hop and Frog, Ignite, Two Monks, and 83 Brewery. They also stopped by White Timbers Winery to try out their semi-sweet red wine called “Night Moves.” Sampling the different beverages allowed them to explore new flavors and support local businesses.

A Fun Night Out with Friends

Brew at the Zoo is a 21 and over event, which means no kids are allowed. This makes it a perfect night out with friends, where you can enjoy drinks and entertainment without worrying about little ones around. The event offers a festive atmosphere, with a live band and a disco theme for the night. Wes and Shonda were able to catch a glimpse of Akron’s beautiful skyline and enjoy the music while sampling various drinks. They even ran into some friends, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Running Out of Beer and Conclusion

While Wes and Chanda had a great time at the Brew at the Zoo, they did mention that some breweries ran out of beer early, which was a bummer. Some places ran out as early as 45 minutes into the event, leaving attendees with limited options. However, despite this issue, they still had a great time and recommend the event to others. Brew at the Zoo is a unique experience that offers a combination of fun, refreshing drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere. If you’re ever in Akron, be sure to check out this event and support local breweries and wineries. Cheers to a fun and memorable summer night out!
