Exploring the Enchanting Asian Lantern Festival at Cleveland Metropark Zoo

Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to DinkLife! We are thrilled to be at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo for the opening night of the Asian Lantern Festival. This incredible event will run from tonight through August 27th on select nights, offering a captivating walk-through experience. The advanced ticket prices are $19 for zoo members and $22 for non-members, and remember, you have until 5:30 PM on the day of your visit to avail of the advanced purchase prices. Otherwise, tickets are $25 for everyone, members, and non-members alike.

But wait, there’s more! Starting July 12th, the festival will also offer a drive-through experience on Wednesday nights. So if you prefer a unique and convenient way to enjoy the festival, you can hop in your car and immerse yourself in the magic. The drive-through experience is priced at $45 for members and $50 for non-members.

Now, let’s talk about what you can expect at the Asian Lantern Festival. The festival boasts an array of mesmerizing attractions, including breathtaking live acrobatic performances, Instagrammable moments, and extraordinary large-scale displays. You’ll be awe-inspired by a magnificent nearly 40-foot-tall giant lantern, enchanting walk-through tunnels, and an immersive 150-foot-long Enchanted Garden Experience presented by CrossCountry Mortgage.

During our visit, we were completely blown away by the incredible acrobatic performances. From face-changing performers to hula hoop artists, unicycle bowl kickers to Diablo artists, and even an astonishing pole contortionist, every act was mind-boggling and kept us on the edge of our seats. The shows run every hour and last for half an hour, so make sure you catch one during your visit.

Of course, we couldn’t resist exploring the Asian food court. While the lines were a bit slow, we indulged in some tasty draft beers and tried out dishes like chicken teriyaki and Mongolian beef bao buns. The food was decent, although a bit on the pricey side. If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, it’s worth a try, but keep in mind that there might be a wait.

As we strolled through the festival, we were surrounded by the vibrant colors and intricate details of the lantern displays. We even came across a Dragon Boat exhibit, a symbol of unity and good luck.

Overall, our experience at the Asian Lantern Festival was nothing short of magical. With its captivating performances, stunning lanterns, and a touch of wildlife at the zoo, it’s an event that truly immerses you in Asian culture. We highly recommend visiting this festival and taking in all the beauty and excitement it has to offer.

Thanks for joining us on this adventure. Remember, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
