Hey there, it’s Wes and Chanda, and we’re thrilled to take you along with us as we explore Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, a charming retro-style hotel nestled in the heart of Universal Orlando. Although this time around, we’ve chosen to stay at Aventura just across the street, we couldn’t resist revisiting Cabana Bay to check out a few things we’ve been eager to share with you.
During our visit, Cabana Bay was offering rooms at a very reasonable rate of $172 per night, but do keep in mind there’s an additional $18 parking fee per night. Our first stop was the Swizzle Lounge, conveniently located in the hotel’s lobby. We had some fantastic experiences with their bartenders, especially Bobby and JJ, during our previous stay.
Next, we ventured into the hotel’s different courtyards. The Cabana Courtyard boasts a lovely pool and an exhilarating water slide, making it a hit with families. In the Lazy River Courtyard, you can laze about in—you guessed it—a lazy river, and there’s also a great bar and counter service food available. We did want to mention that if you plan to enjoy the lazy river, be prepared to either rent an expensive float on-site or consider picking up an affordable one from a dollar store nearby.
Speaking of convenience, you can link a credit card to your hotel room key, making it a breeze to pay for any purchases or rentals, even at the bar. No need to worry about carrying your credit card poolside. Also, all Universal Hotels have their own gift shops, and Cabana Bay’s offers exclusive merchandise you won’t find anywhere else.
Now, what brought us back to Cabana Bay this time was an exciting Chucky exhibit, which is exclusive to guests staying at any Universal Orlando Resort hotel. You have to prove your stay with your room key to enter, and it’s a must-see for fans of the iconic horror series. The exhibit features interactive stations for some thrilling photo and video opportunities.
Despite the slight inconvenience in terms of park access without a car, we truly appreciate Cabana Bay’s retro charm and the fact that even their toiletries have a vintage feel. Although we opted for Aventura this time due to transportation considerations, we’re certain we’ll return to Cabana Bay in the future.
