Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and we’re here to share our recent Halloween adventure at Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt. We’re lucky enough to have season passes, and this time we decided to splurge on Freight Lane passes, which set us back an extra $70 each. These passes granted us access to each haunted house once and threw in one bonus house, and it was a pretty sweet deal. We couldn’t help but reminisce about our visit to the park six or seven years ago, where we first discovered the value of these passes.
Kings Island didn’t disappoint in the Halloween spirit department. They had a range of specialty Halloween drinks. These drinks were visually stunning, thanks to the addition of dry ice, but they came with a pretty hefty price tag of $14.49 each. Beers weren’t much cheaper either, setting you back $13.99. One minor hiccup was the absence of posted wait times for attractions and haunted houses. It would have been nice to have that information handy.
But let’s talk about what impressed us the most – the haunted houses. The haunt nailed the jump scares, unlike some other attractions that use conga lines. They keep you in smaller groups and, boy, did that add to the thrill. What’s more, the actors don’t just give up after the initial scare; they continue to haunt you throughout the house. And here’s a pro tip: don’t miss a night ride on The Beast. It was our first time riding it in the dark, and it was a unique experience. The ride takes you through the woods with the trees lit by moonlight, and some sections are pitch black, making it exhilarating.
While we loved most of the haunted houses, we felt the scare zones could use a little more scare factor. Even so, we wholeheartedly recommend Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt for a fantastic Halloween-themed adventure with exciting haunted attractions. It’s a great way to get into the spooky spirit of the season.
