Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and we’re back at the Akron Zoo, this time for the festive Wild Lights event. It’s a Christmas-themed spectacle where the entire zoo is adorned with twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere. This is our first time experiencing Wild Lights, and the anticipation is high. With our zoo membership, we snagged online tickets for $11 each, a steal considering the holiday cheer we’re about to soak in. The zoo is bustling, and parking was a bit of an adventure, but fingers crossed our impromptu parking space holds until we return.
As we venture through the illuminated paths, we encounter enchanting scenes, from a rainbow light wall to a whimsical display of elves nose-planting into the ground. The zoo has transformed its habitats into holiday wonders, even decorating the Komodo dragon area and adding festive touches to the grizzly bear and red panda enclosures. We make our way to Santa Land, eagerly awaiting its promised grandeur. Along the journey, we stumble upon a magical choir serenading visitors, adding a delightful surprise to the evening. As we sip on adult beverages and weave through the zoo’s illuminated wonders, we can’t help but appreciate the effort and creativity put into making Wild Lights a delightful holiday experience.
We wrap up our night at the Akron Zoo, thoroughly impressed by the festive ambiance and the effort put into Wild Lights. Despite the crowd, the illuminated displays, the cheerful choir, and the overall holiday spirit made it a worthwhile adventure. The Akron Zoo, though modest in size, managed to create a magical holiday atmosphere, it was a fun and festive way to spend the evening. As we head home, we’re reminded once again that whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
