Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome back to Kings Island for WinterFest, but this time, we’re here to ring in the New Year! The park, usually open from 4:00 to 10:00 for WinterFest, has extended its hours till midnight for this special occasion. We couldn’t resist coming back, especially for the New Year’s Buffet at the international restaurant. Join us as we explore the festivities and give you a glimpse of the night!
The evening kicks off with the tree lighting ceremony, setting the stage for the New Year’s celebrations. The countdown begins, and as the clock strikes midnight, Kings Island transforms into a dazzling spectacle of lights. Ice skating, a picturesque setting, and the anticipation of the restaurant buffet heighten the excitement. We head to the international restaurant for the first time, marveling at its elegant ambiance and indulging in a feast fit for New Year’s Eve.
As we explore the park, we encounter whimsical shows like Tinker’s Toy Factory, a Christmas-themed theater performance, and festive decorations scattered around. The night concludes with a ride on the last roller coaster of 2023, adding an exhilarating touch to the festivities. Welcoming 2024, we find ourselves in the international restaurant with Jay, enjoying a breathtaking view of International Street, fireworks, and the lively atmosphere. The New Year’s package, though initially deemed pricey at $130, proves worth every penny with champagne, appetizers, dinner, dessert, and the warmth of escaping the cold. As the night winds down, we reflect on the joy of the past year, grateful for the adventures and eager for the ones ahead.
