Our First Visit to Phantasialand!

Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to DinkLife! We find ourselves in Brühl Germany this morning, more specifically at Phantasialand. This amusement park is new to us, but we’ve seen a few vlogs about it. The entrance fee is €54 per person, with an additional €7 for parking, which we find reasonable. We started our day with the Mystery Tower ride, a drop tower similar to Tower of Terror but with a unique twist – the lights went out immediately, creating an intense drop sequence in pitch black.

The park’s operations seem efficient, at least on the Mystery Tower ride. We arrived just before the park opened and quickly got on the first ride of the day. The weather is a bit chilly, in the high 30s to 40s, but we’re bundled up and ready for a day of exploring. The parking system is interesting, with lots spread around the park, and you only pay when leaving. The park is open from 11 AM to 8 PM, and we plan to make the most of our day.

As we venture further into Phantasialand, we’re impressed by the theming, often compared to Disney parks. We experience the Der Goldene Faden show, a breathtaking tribute to the last 20 years of performances. The acrobatics and gymnastics are on par with Universal Studios’ Nightmare Fuel. The park’s theming continues to amaze us, and we encounter various rides, including Taron, a roller coaster by Intamin, similar to Cedar Point’s Maverick.

We explore different sections of the park, like Africa and Asia, each impressively themed. We take note of the unique aspects, such as the park’s eco-friendly practices, including glassware for drinks with a deposit system. The vlog captures our reactions on various rides, like the F.L.Y. coaster and the Ghost Train. Towards the end of the day, we reflect on the differences we’ve noticed compared to American parks, such as the limited number of souvenir shops and the prevalence of smoking. Despite these distinctions, we thoroughly enjoyed our day at Phantasialand and look forward to future adventures.
