Opening Day of the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival 2024

Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to DinkLife Today, we find ourselves at Disney California Adventure, ready to make the most of our day. Little did we know, it’s the kickoff of the Food and Wine Festival. Expecting crowds, we’re excited for this first-day experience, something we rarely do. Being a more local-centric park than Disney World, we anticipate it getting busier later, but we’re determined to enjoy every moment.

Starting with a breakfast at Pym Test Kitchen, we dive into Nitro Cold Brews and French toast sticks. Exploring the park, we encounter various attractions, from Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, each providing a unique and enjoyable experience. Our adventure takes us to the Marvel area, where we discover the thrilling Web Slingers ride, enjoying the immersive Avengers campus.

Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout is next on the list, providing a mix of excitement and nostalgia, even if Wes prefers the Tower of Terror theming.

As we explore the Food and Wine Festival, we sample various dishes, including a carbonara mac and cheese, sirloin steak, and unique beverages. The festival’s tasting passport guides us through the diverse offerings, and we make it a goal to collect as many stamps as possible.

The day continues with more rides, delightful encounters with Disney characters, and a pitstop at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff. We indulge in a brisket slider and an empanada, relishing the festival’s culinary delights. The brisket slider impresses with its tenderness and flavorful horseradish mayo, while the empanada offers a spicy kick.

As our day at Disney California Adventure comes to a close, we reflect on the wonderful experience, appreciating the mix of classic rides and festival delights.

The accommodations for this trip were at the SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. This hotel was very clean and offered reasonable prices. It is located just a 1-mile walk from the Magic Kingdom. The hotel features interior hallways, which can be hard to find at some of the older hotels around Disneyland.
