Our Spring 2024 Disneyland Trip – Anaheim, California

Hey there, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to our day at Disneyland in Anaheim, California! Today started off a bit chilly, with temperatures in the 50s and overcast skies. We decided to make the most of our day by exploring Magic Kingdom.

One thing we noticed right away was the difference in pricing for Lightning Lane passes compared to Disney World. Individual Lightning Lanes were a bit pricier here, but we opted to purchase one for Rise of the Resistance to skip the 70-minute wait. Despite the cost, it was worth it for the time saved.

As we wandered around the park, we couldn’t help but notice some changes since our last visit before the pandemic. For one, Disneyland now uses Magic Bands, just like Disney World, which made accessing rides a breeze. We hit up classic attractions like Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones, each offering unique experiences that differed from their counterparts in other Disney parks.

One highlight was Rise of the Resistance, a must-do for Star Wars fans. As someone who’s not a huge fan of the franchise, I still found the ride impressive, with its intricate storytelling and immersive effects.

Throughout the day, we made use of Lightning Lanes for various attractions, including Mickey’s Runaway Railway, the newest addition to the park. It was a hit for both of us, offering a fun and whimsical experience that perfectly captured the essence of Disney magic.

Despite the crowds, which were manageable and much friendlier compared to Disney World, we had a fantastic time. We indulged in some iconic Disney treats, like a giant macaron from Jolly Holiday Bakery, and soaked in the nostalgia of classic attractions.

As the day came to a close, we reflected on our experience and realized that while Disneyland may be smaller than its Florida counterpart, it offers a more enjoyable atmosphere with fewer crowds and friendlier guests. It’s a reminder that the magic of Disney lies not just in its attractions, but also in the community of fans who share a love for the parks.

So, whether you’re a seasoned Disney aficionado or a first-time visitor, we encourage you to get out there and experience the magic for yourself. And who knows? You might just discover that the happiest place on earth is even happier than you imagined.
