Kings Island’s Grand Carnivale 2024 Extravaganza

Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to DinkLife! We’re back at Kings Island for the first time since New Year’s. We made a quick drive down and are staying one night, planning to return tomorrow. We’re here to check out the Grand Carnivale, which started on July 20th and runs through August 4th, from 5 PM to 10 PM every night. There’s food, a parade, and so much more! We’re excited to explore Carnivale and see what’s new since we’ve never attended this event before. Plus, we haven’t checked out the new Camp Snoopy and the family coaster there, so come along and join us!

As we walk around, we’re immediately impressed by all the decorations. We stumbled upon the Germany booth, where they have a schnitzel slider—breaded chicken with sauerkraut and sauce between two potato pancakes. It looks delicious, and we couldn’t resist trying it out. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with the potato pancakes adding a great texture. We also stopped by the new Fethaus Bar, though they don’t have much on draft, mostly mixed drinks. Then, we headed over to Adventure Port, our favorite spot to grab a beer at Kings Island. The VIP lounge was a nice place to relax with some chips and beer before heading back out to explore more of the Carnivale festivities.

We ventured over to the China Delights booth, where I tried the bao and duck fried rice. The bao was fluffy and filled with tender, flavorful beef. Wes enjoyed the duck fried rice. Next, we explored the newly revamped Camp Snoopy area, which now features a covered play area for kids and a new family boomerang coaster. The improvements are impressive and definitely add more charm to this section of the park. We also checked out the French and Italian cuisine areas, which had beautifully decorated booths and delicious food options. The Grand Carnivale truly transforms Kings Island into a multicultural celebration.

We wrapped up our evening with the Spectacle of Color Parade and the post-parade show leading up to the fireworks. The parade was vibrant and interactive, with performers engaging the crowd and tossing beads. The center stage show kept the energy high until the fireworks began, creating a festive atmosphere. Although we didn’t see the drone show we expected, the fireworks were fantastic. Overall, we had a great time at Kings Island’s Grand Carnivale. It’s a fun event with beautiful decorations, delicious food, and lively entertainment. If you get a chance to visit, we highly recommend it, especially on a weeknight when it’s less crowded. Thanks for joining us, and whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
