Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda, and welcome to DinkLife! Today, we’re in Barberton, Ohio, for the Barberton Mum Festival. This festival happens every year on the last weekend in September, and it’s a big event here. On the other side of Lake Anna, where we’ll head later, they plant thousands of mums in intricate patterns. It’s such a cool sight! Aside from the flowers, there are tons of food vendors, craft booths, and some unique entertainment—including a water ski show on this small lake behind us, which we’ll show you clips of later in the video.
Despite the spotty weather, it’s packed today—busier than we’ve ever seen Barberton. That’s saying a lot because this is a pretty popular event. It’s strange, though, with the off-and-on rain, but people are here enjoying themselves, and so are we! We walked around, checked out the craft vendors, and even caught some of the water ski show. It’s not something you see often, especially in a small town like this. The show was fun—lots of stunts, jumps, and spins that had the crowd cheering. It reminded us a bit of the old SeaWorld days, but on a much smaller scale.
As we wrapped up our day, we stopped by the other side of the lake to check out the mums up close. The flower arrangements were stunning, and they had plenty for sale. We picked up a few things, like fresh pasta and some dog treats, before calling it a day. If you’re ever around the Akron-Cleveland area in late September, we definitely recommend checking out the Mum Festival. It’s a great time, and as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
