Hey, it’s Wes and Chanda from DinkLife! Today, we’re checking out King’s Cross Station in London—an absolute must-visit for any Harry Potter fan. This is the spot where you’ll find the famous Platform 9¾, where wizards and witches in the stories would dash through a brick wall to catch the Hogwarts Express. We’re excited to take you inside with us and show you around the station, which still manages to capture some of that magical feeling, even though the trains are a bit more modern than in the movies.
Right at the Platform 9¾ photo spot, we found a line of eager fans waiting to snap a pic with the luggage trolley embedded in the wall. It’s so popular that they’ve even set up a professional photo station where you can pose with a scarf in your Hogwarts house colors. The line for this is pretty long, but it’s a fun experience. The shop itself is packed with unique merch, from wands and house-themed clothing to Honeydukes sweets and exclusive prints. Some of the items are different from what we’ve seen at Universal, making it a great spot for collectors and fans alike.
While the magic at King’s Cross is thrilling, we couldn’t help but reminisce about our visit to Warner Bros. Studio Tour just outside London, where they filmed many of the iconic scenes from the Harry Potter series. It’s an incredible experience to walk through the actual sets like the Great Hall, Hagrid’s Hut, and the Ministry of Magic. Last time we were there, we saw the Halloween decorations, which added a special touch to the tour. If you haven’t been, we highly recommend it! The authentic sets and costumes give it a magical feel that’s hard to beat, even for a casual fan like Wes.
There’s so much Harry Potter magic scattered across London that it’s tough to fit it all in one trip, but if you’re a fan, King’s Cross and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour are essential stops.
