If you ever find yourself heading to the Dent Schoolhouse for their Christmas Nightmare, let me give you a quick tip – don’t pay the $10 to park. There’s free parking just past it! Trust me, it’s worth the short walk. We went for general admission, which was $35 a person, and the event only runs for two nights – December 13th and 14th. It’s one of those unique holiday mashups you don’t want to miss.
Right from the start, we knew this wasn’t your typical haunted house experience. Krampus and all sorts of creepy Christmas creatures were already lurking before we even stepped inside. The familiar Halloween decorations were still there, but now with a festive twist – pumpkins wearing Santa hats, creepy demons decked out in Christmas gear, and snow adding that extra eerie vibe. It’s wild to see such a spooky place completely transformed with holiday cheer… well, the spooky version of cheer.
Once inside, the Christmas theming was next-level. It wasn’t just a few strings of lights here and there – they went all out. Presents, garlands, and even glowing candy canes lined the halls. The Christmas music playing through the house actually made it creepier, which I didn’t expect but really enjoyed. And the best part? I think I liked it even more than when we came during Halloween. The lights made it easier to catch the details, and the effects were incredible.
The experience doesn’t end after the house. The midway outside is packed with photo ops, and if you’re into extra thrills, they’ve got escape rooms and ax throwing. For $35, you get a pretty full evening of entertainment. If you’re like us and love both Halloween and Christmas, this is the perfect event. Just remember, it’s only two nights, so mark your calendar for next year. And as always – whatever you decide to do, just get out there and have some fun!
