Hey, it’s Wes, and welcome to DinkLife! Today, I’m taking you along on an adventure to the top of the Eiffel Tower—a bucket list item I’ve wanted to check off for ages. I booked this experience about a month and a half in advance, which is essential if you want to reach the very top. If you’re only aiming for the second floor, you might snag a spot with just two to three weeks’ notice, but those top-level tickets go fast. My ticket, which included a glass of champagne, cost around $68. I’ll even share a picture of myself enjoying champagne at the top! Unfortunately, Chanda skipped this one because she’s not a fan of heights.
Getting to the top involved two elevator rides and two rounds of security checks—plus scanning my ticket three separate times. It wasn’t too confusing, though, and the whole process ran pretty smoothly. When I finally reached the summit, it was raining, and the low clouds gave the view a moody, atmospheric vibe. Despite the weather, it was amazing to be up there, sipping champagne and soaking in the history. There’s even a restroom and a small office space up there—impressive for a structure of this age and scale. There’s also a model of the top section of the tower on display, which I thought was a neat touch.
On my way down, I stopped at the second floor, where you’ll find a gift shop and another stunning view. This level is a great option if you’re short on time or missed out on the top-level tickets. Finally, I explored the first floor, which houses a food court and another gift shop. The whole experience left me in awe of the Eiffel Tower’s sheer size and engineering, especially considering it’s been standing tall since the late 1800s. Even today, it feels gigantic.
If you’re planning a visit, one tip I’d share is to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled elevator time to get through security without a rush. Thanks for coming along with me on this adventure! The Eiffel Tower truly lived up to the hype, and I’m thrilled to have finally seen it in person. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
