After an immense amount of travel, we finally made it to Hong Kong Disneyland! Our journey was long, but we were beyond excited to check into the Hollywood Hotel. Walking into our room, we immediately noticed the fun Marvel-themed details, like the Avengers Tower safe and the complimentary Avengers slippers. The bathroom had a sleek movie-theater-inspired design, and the deep soaking tub was a welcome sight after hours of travel. Everything was spotless, and even small touches, like a designated space for jewelry, made the room feel thoughtfully designed.
The room itself was fairly spacious, featuring two double beds and a vibrant Marvel mural. A charming little table displayed “Now Showing” signage, tying into the Hollywood theme. Booking through the official website came with a fun perk—two free gifts, one from the hotel and one from the park. We also had no trouble using our American credit card, which made the booking process hassle-free. One of the best features was the view—overlooking the Hollywood Studios area, with a glimpse of the ocean and lush, tropical scenery that felt even more vibrant than Florida’s. Though it was February, the 62-degree weather felt warm to us.
Getting to the hotel was a breeze. We opted for a taxi from the airport, which cost about 160 Hong Kong dollars (roughly 20 USD) and took about 20 minutes. As soon as we arrived, staff rushed to help with our luggage, giving us a ticket and delivering our bags to our room within minutes—no tipping required. While public transportation was an option, the convenience of a taxi after a long journey was well worth the cost. Once settled, we explored the hotel’s lobby bar, The Archivist, which was decked out with Avengers artifacts, including the Infinity Gauntlet. We grabbed some small plates, including adorable Iron Man toast with baba ganoush and pomegranate jelly, and the unexpectedly large “Gems Platter,” featuring salmon, avocado, tofu, and more, styled to resemble the Infinity Stones.
Later, we visited the Disneyland Hotel for dinner and were immediately struck by its grandeur. The exterior resembled Disney World’s Grand Floridian, but with a cleaner, more compact design. The lobby smelled amazing, and Chinese New Year decorations added a festive touch. From the back of the hotel, we had a breathtaking view of the ocean, city skyline, and even people fishing along the shore. The gift shop was packed with exclusive merchandise, including Duffy-themed Chinese New Year items, custom ear headbands, and practical finds like hand towels—essential for drying hands in public restrooms here. The entire experience at Hong Kong Disneyland’s hotels was exceptional, from the themed details to the top-notch service. We couldn’t wait to explore the park next! Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
