Chanda and I were back at Hong Kong Disneyland for day two, and this time, we decided to try Early Entry. After skipping Premier Access on day one (since the park wasn’t busy enough to justify the cost), we wanted to see if Early Entry was a better investment. For 199 Hong Kong dollars (about $25 per person), we gained access to five rides before the park officially opened: both Frozen rides, Dumbo, the Carousel, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. We managed to get on all five before the general crowds flooded in, and considering that Frozen Ever After had a two-hour wait the previous day, this was absolutely worth the price.
One of the highlights of the morning was riding Frozen Ever After with no wait. The attraction is nearly identical to the one at Epcot, but we both agreed that the Hong Kong version was even better. It featured an extra scene, improved projections, and animatronics that felt more polished. Another ride included in Early Entry was Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, a fun but extremely short family coaster. It was a cute experience, but after seeing 90-minute wait times the day before, we definitely wouldn’t recommend waiting that long for it. Once again, Early Entry proved to be the best way to experience these rides with minimal hassle.
We also took advantage of the morning lull to check out the Frozen-themed sweet shop, which had a line out the door later in the day. Chanda picked up a vanilla lemon cheesecake, and I grabbed an Olaf Celebration Cake, which turned out to be more like a dense carrot cake. Both were beautifully made and, like most desserts in Asia, not overly sweet. Afterward, we explored other parts of the park, including Big Grizzly Mountain, which completely took us by surprise. What started as a tame mine train ride suddenly launched us backward, making it one of the best rides in the park.
After a day and a half at Hong Kong Disneyland, we were beyond impressed. While it’s a smaller park, it’s packed with high-quality attractions and a fantastic atmosphere. We’d recommend giving yourself two days instead of one—while you could technically do everything in a day, it would be rushed, especially if the park is busy. If you’re planning a visit, skip Premier Access and spend the extra money on Early Entry instead. It made a huge difference in our experience and let us enjoy the best rides with zero stress. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
