Exploring Akihabara: Super Potato, Vending Machine Alley & Tokyo Milk Bar Adventures

Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife!

We spent a fun-packed afternoon exploring Akihabara in Tokyo, one of the coolest neighborhoods for gaming fans and quirky experiences. Our first stop was Super Potato, a hidden gem of a retro game store that brought back so many memories. From old-school consoles to rare Japanese versions of games like Goonies 2, we were blown away by the nostalgia.

Then we made our way through Akihabara’s legendary vending machine alley, where you can find everything from random stickers to mystery boxes and even fresh popcorn. It’s tucked away in a narrow alley and has a bit of a haunted feel—but it’s a must-see. After that, we wandered into Yodabashi Akiba, a massive department store filled with everything from electronics to beer-making machines.

To wrap up, we visited the Milk Bar inside the subway station. We tried banana and fruit-flavored milk, while skipping the more adventurous ones like beef and carrot. The glass bottles are returnable, so you drink it right there. We also grabbed a bite of tonkatsu for lunch, which was fresh, delicious, and super affordable.

Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
