Shinjuku Prince Hotel Tour: Small Tokyo Room, Big City View!

Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife!

We just checked into the Shinjuku Prince Hotel here in downtown Tokyo and wanted to give you a quick tour of our room. Like most Tokyo hotels, the room is compact—but it’s actually more spacious than some others we’ve stayed in. It’s efficiently packed with amenities: a fridge, safe, tea and coffee station, slippers, and even a full set of toiletries. The real surprise? The incredible view of the iconic Godzilla Hotel across the street!

The bathroom is another highlight. It’s a molded unit with a tub so deep you can practically swim in it, and it comes with full-sized toiletries and some serious tech—hello, heated bidet toilet! We’ve found these setups to be pretty common in Japan and they always feel like a luxury compared to standard U.S. hotel bathrooms.

The hotel is super conveniently located, too. We’re on the 14th floor with easy access to the city below. Golden Gai, one of Tokyo’s best nightlife spots, is just a few blocks away. We even enjoyed drinks with a friendly Swedish guy and a Texan we met there. It’s also just a five-minute walk to the subway.

At about $200 a night, staying right in the heart of Tokyo with this kind of view is a pretty sweet deal. If you’re considering where to stay in Shinjuku, we’d definitely recommend checking out the Shinjuku Prince Hotel.

Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
