Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife.
This time, we explored the wild streets of Shibuya in Tokyo and packed in a full day of adventure. Our first stop was the legendary Shibuya Crossing, which is just as chaotic and iconic as it looks in the movies. From there, we headed out to find Deashi—the elusive all-you-can-eat Japanese candy bar. We had tried finding this place before without any luck, but this time, we finally located it with the help of a few obscure online tips.
Once inside Deashi, we had two hours to try an endless variety of Japanese candy for just 600 Yen. The rule is simple: eat it there, and don’t take any with you. The candy ranged from tiny mochi and puffy onion snacks to poop-shaped gummies and some of the best nostalgic treats we’ve ever had. Drinks are extra, but still super affordable—and totally worth it to wash down the weird and wonderful flavors.
After our candy crash, we made our way to Don Quijote, a multi-level mega store that sells everything under the sun. From quirky toys and Studio Ghibli goodies to cosmetics, Kit Kats, and even an adults-only section, it was a maze of sensory overload. We picked up a bunch of unique souvenirs and even got a break thanks to duty-free deals, which made our shopping spree even sweeter.
We capped off our Shibuya day at the Nintendo Store Tokyo. It was our first time visiting and it didn’t disappoint—there was everything from Donkey Kong merch to Animal Crossing kettles and Splatoon toys. By the end of the day, we were exhausted but thrilled. If you’re ever in Tokyo, Shibuya is a must-visit for candy lovers, gamers, and shopaholics alike. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
