Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife.
This time, we’re in Dearborn, Michigan—just outside the Motor City—checking out one of the most recommended restaurants in the area: Ford’s Garage. Though the place is known far and wide for its burgers, we both decided to try something different. I went with the meatloaf, and Wes had the ribeye steak. Both dishes were delicious, but what really caught us off guard was the house-made coleslaw. It had a creamy texture with just a hint of mustard that gave it a fantastic tang.
The theme of the place is pure automotive nostalgia, with everything from hose clamp napkin holders to Firestone tire sinks in the restrooms. We couldn’t take you in there, but trust us, they were awesome. The whole setup adds a fun atmosphere to what could otherwise just be a regular bar and grill. Our server Jordan was also incredible—one of the nicest we’ve had in a while—and he made our lunch even more enjoyable.
Wes enjoyed a local sour beer with his meal, and we both agreed that Ford’s Garage has one of the best tap lists we’ve seen on the road. They serve full pints too, which is always a win. It’s the kind of place we could have easily visited multiple times just to sample more of the drinks and relax in the cool garage setting.
If you’re ever in the Dearborn area, we highly recommend giving this place a visit. The food is solid, the theming is fun, and the prices are reasonable. Just remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
