Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife!
On our recent trip to Tokyo Disney, we decided to switch hotels after one night on Disney property to something more budget-friendly but still close by. That led us to the Tokyo Bay Maihama First Resort—just a short 8-minute walk from the park gates. It was a seamless move, and the location turned out to be super convenient without breaking the bank.
The hotel itself is a bit older, but the room was spacious, clean, and loaded with amenities. We had a separate toilet and bath area, tons of complimentary toiletries, a large tub, and even a humidifier. The beds were comfy, and the in-room perks like slippers, pajamas, and nightstand outlet controls made it a very pleasant stay. There was also a great view of the Disneyland Hotel and a beautiful fountain from our window.
One of the things we love about traveling in Japan is the incredible hospitality. The staff at Maihama First Resort held our bags and brought them to our room without expecting a tip—something that really stands out when you’re used to American tipping culture. Plus, the hotel includes free breakfast and has an on-site convenience store and Disney shop.
We’ve now stayed at Hilton Tokyo Bay, the Toy Story Hotel, and this one—and honestly, there hasn’t been a bad stay yet. Each one offers something a little different, but if you’re trying to visit Disney without spending a fortune, this hotel is a solid option. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
