Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife. This weekend we decided to take a trip to Dearborn, Michigan to visit Greenfield Village, part of The Henry Ford. Neither of us had been here since we were kids, so it felt like a brand-new experience. The weather was a little rough in the morning, but by the time we arrived, the skies cleared and we were ready to explore.
Walking through Greenfield Village is like stepping back in time. We wandered through Thomas Edison’s workshop, the Wright brothers’ bicycle shop, Noah Webster’s house where he wrote the first dictionary, and even homes dating back to the 1600s. Each building had its own story, and the staff was absolutely incredible. Their knowledge and passion for history made every stop more memorable.
We spent about four and a half hours exploring and still didn’t see everything. There are extra attractions like riding in a Model T or taking a steam train around the property, but we opted to save those for another visit. The sheer size of the village and variety of exhibits meant we were on our feet most of the day, so good walking shoes are a must.
This is truly one of the most impressive historical attractions in the United States. It’s educational, fun, and a perfect outing for families or history lovers. We can’t wait to come back during the holidays to see it decorated for Christmas. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
