Hidden Tiki Bar Gem in Burbank – Broken Compass Review & Vibes!

Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife!

On this adventure, we made our way to the Broken Compass in Burbank, thanks to a recommendation from our awesome server David at Lucky Tiki. Located just minutes from our hotel, we walked in, put our names down, and only had to wait about five minutes. No reservations needed, it’s first come, first serve, which adds to the relaxed and welcoming vibe.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were impressed with the decor and chill atmosphere. We browsed through their merch, checked out the drink menu, and ordered two unique slushie cocktails—a tart seasonal mix with cherry and rhubarb for me, and a frozen take on the classic painkiller for Wes. The presentation was fun, and the flavors were spot-on. We also grabbed a plate of fries with garlic chive aioli that were scorching hot and ridiculously crunchy.

But what really made the night special was the people. Our server, originally from Ohio, was easy to talk to and full of great stories. We ended up chatting with people around us too, which is something we love to do when we travel. Everyone seemed to have an interesting background or a unique story to tell, just one of the many reasons we love visiting local spots like this.

Broken Compass isn’t just a bar—it’s a great place to connect, relax, and enjoy the unexpected. If you’re ever in Burbank, take a detour from the tourist traps and stop in. You won’t regret it. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
