Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife! On our latest adventure, we finally made it to the Lakeland Antique Mall in Lakeland, Florida. Despite driving past this place for years on our way to Orlando, we had never taken the time to stop. After watching a few vlogs and learning about the incredible amount of theme park memorabilia inside, we decided to make a day of it after Halloween Horror Nights and check it out.
Getting to Lakeland from the Orlando theme park area was surprisingly easy—just a quick 45-minute drive, mostly straight down the freeway. We even stopped in the charming downtown area of Lakeland for lunch, which was filled with great little spots to eat. It made for the perfect slow-paced day away from the madness of the theme parks.
Inside the antique mall, we were blown away by the amount of Disney, Universal Studios, and Halloween Horror Nights items packed into this place. We saw everything from Shrek ride signs and 3D glasses to chandeliers from Disney Springs, haunted mansion décor, old arcade machines, and even a Goodyear tire from the Tomorrowland Speedway. Some prices were a bit wild, but the nostalgia factor was priceless.
In the end, we walked out with a few small souvenirs and a ton of cool memories. If you’re a fan of theme parks like we are, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
