Hey it’s Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife!
We just wrapped up an incredible day exploring some of London’s most authentic Christmas markets. Starting with Leicester Square, just a short walk from Covent Garden, we were immediately drawn into the cozy, festive vibe. This market really stood out with its traditional German-style stalls, warm Glühwein, and incredible food options. Compared to the one we saw near the London Eye—which honestly didn’t impress—this one had everything you’d want in a European-style market.
We then made our way to the market by Tower Bridge, and although it was smaller, it was absolutely stunning with its riverside location and charming booths. The raclette cheese was bubbling, the sweets were over-the-top, and the views of the Thames were just breathtaking. We ended up buying German stars, a London-themed candle spinner, and yes, four blocks of delicious cheese. The vendors were super friendly, especially the gentleman from Poland selling cheese.
We had Glühwein at both markets and really soaked in the Christmas spirit. These two markets gave us the authentic holiday experience we were craving. The lights, the smells, the tastes—it was everything. While not every market in London hits the mark, these two definitely do.
Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
