Today I got the chance to unbox and review the CooWPS’s P2 Switch 2 case — a hard shell protective case currently available on Kickstarter for $55. First off, shoutout to CooWPS’s for sending over a complimentary unit for me to try. I’ve been using similar hard-style cases like Dbrand’s, so I was excited to compare them head-to-head.
The packaging from CooWPS’s was surprisingly premium — clean design, protective foam, and even a cleaning cloth (which I now have a whole drawer full of). The case itself includes screen case, Joy-Con covers, and space for 12 game cartridges — two more than Dbrand’s. Installation was fairly easy, and the snug fit gave me confidence in the case’s durability. A cool standout feature was the built-in MagSafe ring, letting you attach a battery pack for extended gaming sessions.
The real surprise was how well the CooWPS’s case holds up against the Dbrand option. It’s slimmer, still offers great grip and ergonomics, and doesn’t rely on elastic bands or awkward docks. Even though I got this one for free, I genuinely think I’d choose it over my $80 Dbrand case.
If you’re looking for a high-quality, minimalist Switch 2 case that travels well, the CooWPS’s P2 is definitely worth checking out. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
