Hey its Wes and Chanda and welcome to Dinklife. We were back in London and found ourselves once again in Covent Garden, heading straight to one of our favorite comfort food spots, Mother Mash. We have eaten here on past trips and it never gets old. This time we checked out their Covent Garden location and were excited to see how it compared to the original Soho spot.
We ordered some of our go to favorites and tried a few new things as well. I went with the smoked sausage, champ mashed potatoes, and farmer’s gravy, while Chanda chose the Christmas pie filled with pork, bacon, stuffing, and cranberry along with champ mash and onion gravy. Every bite was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, exactly how British comfort food should be.
Of course, we could not leave without dessert. We shared a sticky toffee pudding with custard and it was incredibly decadent. The cake itself was not overly sweet, but the custard was rich and creamy, making the whole dessert feel indulgent and satisfying. It was the perfect way to end the meal.
Mother Mash is easy to find if you are visiting Covent Garden and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the amount of food you get. It is a small spot, so reservations are a great idea. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
