Best Fish & Chips in London? We Tried The Mayfair Chippy Near Harrods!

Hey its Wes and Chanda and welcome to Dinklife. On this trip to London, we finally decided it was time to try one of the most famous dishes in the city fish and chips. Even though we have been to London several times before, we had never actually sat down and had a traditional fish and chips meal. After getting a recommendation from someone we met leaving Mother Mash, we made a reservation at The Mayfair Chippy in Knightsbridge to see if it really lived up to the hype.

When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the atmosphere of the restaurant. It had a beautiful skylight and a really cozy but upscale feel. The location was also perfect because it was just steps away from Harrods. Wes ordered the classic fish and chips along with a few oysters to start, while Chanda went with the vegetarian fish and chips made with halloumi cheese. The menu also had a vegan option made with tofu, which was great to see.

The oysters came out first and they were incredibly fresh. With lemon, Tabasco, and the vinegar and shallot topping, they had amazing flavor. When the main dishes arrived, we were shocked by how huge the portions were. The fish was perfectly cooked with a light crispy breading, and the chips were crunchy and seasoned really well. Chanda’s halloumi version was fantastic too, especially with the tomato chutney.

Overall, the meal was absolutely delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. It was not the cheapest meal we had in London, but the quality and portion sizes definitely made it worth it. If you are visiting London and want to try authentic fish and chips near Harrods, The Mayfair Chippy is a great place to go. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
