Inside Alcatraz The Real Experience From Start to Finish

Hey its Wes and Chanda and welcome to Dinklife. We made our way to Pier 33 in San Francisco to catch the ferry out to Alcatraz Island, and we were excited to finally check this off our bucket list. We had booked everything using a city pass, which made it really convenient, but we made sure to choose the option that actually included Alcatraz since not all of them do.

The ferry ride out to the island was quick but full of amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline. Once we arrived, we started exploring right away and quickly realized there was a lot more to see than just the prison itself. The island has so much history, from its time as a military fort to becoming one of the most well known prisons in the country.

Walking up to the prison was definitely a workout since the hill is steep and uneven, but it was absolutely worth it. The audio tour inside the prison was one of the best parts of the experience. We walked through real prison cells, saw escape areas, and even stepped inside solitary confinement, which was a bit eerie but incredibly interesting.

By the time we headed back, we had spent a few hours exploring and still felt like there was more we could have seen. Between the history, the views, and the overall experience, it was something we would absolutely recommend. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
