Hey it’s Wes and welcome to Dinklife. Today I checked out the updated COOWPS + P2 Nintendo Switch case that COOWPS sent over for us to review. I had already reviewed the original version a while back, so I was excited to compare the new release side by side to see what changes had been made. Right away I noticed the packaging had been simplified a bit, but everything inside still felt organized and familiar.
After unboxing everything, I went through all the included accessories including the screen cover, JoyCon shells, instructions. Most of the design stayed very similar to the original version, especially the screen cover and back shell. The biggest difference showed up in the JoyCon cases where COOWPS clearly updated the molding and overall fit.
When I compared the old and new JoyCon grips side by side, I could immediately tell the newer version snapped into place much easier. The redesigned edges helped the JoyCons fit tighter into the Nintendo Switch without feeling loose. I also noticed the finish had changed slightly, giving the new case more of a soft velvety texture compared to the shinier feel of the older model.
Overall, I thought the updated COOWPS + P2 case was a solid improvement over the original release. The redesigned JoyCon fit made the biggest difference and helped the Switch feel much sturdier during gameplay. For the price, it still felt like a really great value if you are looking for affordable Nintendo Switch protection. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
