Hey its Wes and Chanda and welcome to DinkLife! During our trip to San Francisco we finally visited the Walt Disney Family Museum, and it turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of our entire adventure. We went in without knowing much about what to expect, and within minutes we realized this was much more than a museum. It was an incredible journey through Walt Disney’s life, his imagination, and the history that shaped Disney as we know it today.
As we explored the galleries, we saw original artwork, early Mickey Mouse sketches, vintage cameras, animation equipment, movie memorabilia, Walt’s personal train, and an incredible scale model of Disneyland. We even discovered stories and artifacts that we had never come across before despite visiting the parks, reading books, and watching countless documentaries over the years. Every room offered something new that made us appreciate Walt’s vision even more.
We also shared our experience using CityPASS after running into a problem accessing our tickets. Thankfully, their live support team quickly solved the issue and had us inside within just a few minutes. Once we started exploring, we spent more than three hours walking through the exhibits, reading displays, and taking in all of the incredible details. Even then, we still felt like we could have spent another half hour exploring everything.
If you are a Disney fan visiting San Francisco, we truly believe this museum belongs at the top of your itinerary. The exhibits, history, and personal stories made it one of our favorite museums we have visited in a long time. We left feeling inspired and with an even greater appreciation for everything Walt Disney created. Remember, as always, whatever you decide to do, just get out there and do it!
